The Yellow Jackets class incorporates more substantial Taekwondo techniques such as, Olympic sparring and traditional forms. Lessons are structured on a foundation of 5 key principles:
Respect and Empathy: This class focuses on the effect our actions have on those around us and the consequences or rewards of those actions.
Positive Attitude: Students are encouraged to reach beyond their own expectations to achieve goals that at first glance, feel impossible. Positive attitudes are emphasized as being the first step toward reaching goals.
Self Discipline: Students are taught to never give up - especially when the going gets tough. This is when students begin to develop their own internal motivator - something they will need in challenging times.
Self Advocacy: Children in this age group are just beginning to articulate their likes and dislikes, and their personal frustrations. Improving the ability to advocate for oneself - opens the door for better decision making - a major player in peer pressure situations.
